Goda Used to prepare the garlands that her father carried to the lord balaji temple to decorate our Lord Venkateswara swamy.

Once She prepared the garlands, she would try first her self to make sure that they looks beautiful and fit or not. then used to give them to her father for offering to Lord Balaji. Father Vishnuchitta carried all garlands and offering to lord. One fine day, Father Vishnuchitta found some hair in garland. He realized the reason and was worried about the sacrilege committed. But that night the lord appears in his dream and explains love towards goda. he always prefers the ones worn by goda. day by day love and affection increased.

Devotional towards the lord and intensity of her love and dedication toward sri Venkateswara swamy grew so much that she decides to marry Sri Ranganatha. a form of Lord vishnu. Andal insisted that she marries none other than lord Ranganathan. Vishnuchitta takes andal to Srirangam. At the auspicious moments, the lord marries andal then she merges with the lord. Thus goda became ” Amuktamalyada ” Meaning of words, Mukta means worn and removed. Garland. Da- means who gives. The holy and sacred garlands (malas), popularly known as Goda Devi malas from Srivalliputhur temple (Tamil Nadu) made of tulasi, sevanthi and sampangi flowers kept in big baskets were offered by two families of flower makers of Srivalliputhur, 650 kms from Tirupati
