Thaipusam is an important festival observed by the Hindus of southern India during the Tamil month of Thai (January – February).. Agni Nakshatram

Agni Nakshatram is a 14-day period in May, the hottest part of the year. It is the season when devout persons go round the hill in the Giri Veedi as much out of faith as for reasons of health, in the early morning (1 am. to 10 a.m.) and evening (4 to 10 pm) in large numbers. in ancient days the siddhas, rishis saints and other devotees of lord muruga around early in mornings.

The temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. On festival days the temple opens at 4.30 a.m. There are six poojas performed in the temple, namely, the Vilaa pooja at 6.30 a.m., Siru Kall pooja at 8.00 a.m., Kaala Santhi at 9.00 a.m., Utchikkala Pooja at 12.00 noon, Raja Alankaram at 5.30 p.m., Iraakkaala pooja at 8.00 p.m. The Golden Car can be viewed at 6.30 p.m. palani temple alangaram timings

Rope Way System starts from early morning 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. The rope-car takes only 2.45 minutes to cover the distance of 320 metres . The rope car is faster than winch. The Rope car system is introduced for the first time in Tamilnadu at Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple, Palani for the benefits of the devotees The rope way is operated from 7.00A.M to 9.00P.M with one hour break between 1.30P.M to 2.30P.M.

here are four ways to reach the hill top temple. Two different step ways are there, left one is like a ramp with less slope which is very easy to climb. Right side steps are a little steep, approximately 650 – 700 steps are there
