Three people were injured Wednesday morning when the driver of an SUV attempted to make unauthorized entry to the National Security Agency’s compound at Fort Meade, authorities said.

Those hurt included an NSA police officer, a civilian onlooker and a driver of the black SUV, which had a total of three occupants, said Gordon B. Johnson, special agent in charge for the FBI’s Baltimore field office.

“We believe there is no indication to think this is anything more than an isolated incident,” Johnson said during an afternoon news briefing at Fort Meade.

“We believe there is no nexus at all to terrorism,” he said.
