HOW WE BECOME WE ??

Namaste. This is my first blog I am writing after three or four attempts of starting a blog. I wasn’t actually sure about this before. So I kept procrastinating and now I feel like I got to do this. It is like a command to carry out from my masters I bow. I am really excited about starting my new blog and share my thoughts here, maybe because I am bored of an 8 to 8 work schedule these days.
Since childhood I used to wonder about death or why people die. As I grew I was actually scared to sleep at night thinking what if I won’t wake up. I believed people would be ignorant of the world after they die. As I grew up to be a nineteen year old I began to realize that death is not something to be scared of. It would be a very relaxing transition phase like sleeping after a tiresome day.
For me it is in fact an interesting thing to talk, think or conclude about birth, death, reincarnation, evolution or collectively called as life. Since I always enjoyed telling people stories here I am trying to put this in a story way. I sincerely request everybody to read the story with an open up attitude. Agreement or disagreement is solely your wish.

The Story Begins……

The Beginning
Long long ago, around 4.5 billion years before Earth was this molten sphere with volcanoes and all. Later it cooled over time. Even after the solidification there were no oxygen and were full of toxic gases and volcanoes. However after lots of chemical reactions eruptions and collisions of meteorites Earth has formed a layer of atmosphere suitable for the life to begin.
Whatsoever Earth’s formation is none of our business right now. But one thing to be remembered is that it was formed once long time ago.

The Real Beginning
The Earth without life is just like a school without students. There is no purpose for a school without students. It is just a building made of matter. That is why the beginning of life is called the real beginning of the story.
Some people believe that Earth and its life forms were created by God by waving his hands over the surface.
People who believe in Hinduism believes that Lord Brahma created life on Earth and the world is being maintained by Lord Vishnu and it will be destroyed by Lord Shiva. They are all considered as demigods in Hindu mythology.
Some other people believes life was being created by a superhuman alien by disintegrating his body.
Then there are people who believes it was all a natural process which happened as a result of certain chemical reactions paved the way for beginning of life on earth. They believe that a single celled organism was the first Living thing on earth.
Whatsoever I don’t believe that some white bearded grandpa sitting over the clouds created the Earth and its life forms by waving his hand. But what the all other groups of people believes seems true to me. Maybe life was created on Earth by some alien superhuman. Maybe that superhuman alien would be the one called as Lord Brahma by religious people. After that was a slow and natural and beautiful process. Like the atheists and science guys believes, first life form on earth created was a single celled organism, but by the disintegration of the superhuman alien. The superhuman alien was from another planet. Since he was from another planet doesn’t make him the first life form on earth.
In one way or another all these theories have one thing in common. Every living thing on this planet are created from a single creature, which means we are all connected genetically.

 Evolution
After millions and millions years of life’s formation a man from a religious family, who believed in god, after a certain age realizes that this is not a magic we are living. Charles Darwin was a naturalist and a truth seeker. He made a revolutionary observation that every living species exists is evolved from a single organism. Science also admits Darwin’s discovery to a much greater extent. It is pretty much believable because Darwin’s proposition was a realistic one.
Darwin’s Evolution
As we all learned from school Darwin found out the evolution of lower level organisms to higher level ones. He found out every living thing exist now is evolved from a common predecessor. And also he came up with observations like natural selection and adaptation. According to Darwin the repeated use of an organ lead to its development and its idleness leads to the detachment. For instance neck of a giraffe is longer compared to its ancestors. Former giraffe’s had comparatively shorter neck and they used to stretch their neck to reach leaves at heights which led to the elongation and later their successors adapted the features of a longer neck. Likewise ancestors of apes, which were evolved from monkeys, had tails. Due to its larger size they couldn’t use its tails to hang on to tree branches, thus its idleness led to parting of that organ.
The first living things were formed in water and crawled to land and later evolved into other organisms. For the sake of understanding the concept I am proposing here, let us consider the order of living things evolved are as follows:
Ant -->Spider--> Cockroach --> Rat -->Hen--> Mongoose--> Dog -->Tiger--> Ape-->Human
(This is not the actual order of evolution. Imagine it as the order for the sake of understanding the concept)
Evolution of Consciousness
What Darwin observed was the evolution of living things in the physical form. But there is another dimension. That is what ancient rishis taught us. That is what Hindu mythology is based on.
Everything in the universe possess energy. Every living and non-living thing possess energy. You, me, the ant, cockroach, tiger etc. This energy is called as ‘soul’ or ‘athma’ by religious and spiritual people. This energy we possess is in the form of ‘consciousness’ or ‘bodham’. The consciousness or energy has a property called ‘awareness’ or simply knowledge. As the awareness increases the consciousness expands. Awareness can be about anything. Anything we can sense, smell, hear, see and taste.
The story of evolution of consciousness in ants to humans…
An ant born one day starts growing up. While the time of its growing it learns to walk and find food which are its basic survival instincts. At the beginning stage of an ant’s life, its world is around a tiny particle of sugar or a small area of (say)1 sq.cm. Its awareness about the world is limited to that small area and the sugar particle. As it grow older it began to travel more distances for food. It finds out about different kinds of food. Thus during its entire lifetime the ant should have traveled a lot of distance and learned a lot about food stuffs. Thus the concept of world for that ant changes from a tiny particle of sugar to maybe a large block of halwa. Which means its awareness increased from knowing about a tiny sugar and 1 sq.cm Area to a block of halwa and 5m² of area. This increase in awareness expands its consciousness, which we talked about before as energy.
Finally at the time of its death the ant has a great awareness about the world and an expanded consciousness than at the time of its birth. So the old ant-body cannot hold the expanded consciousness anymore. Because the expanded consciousness need another body with a bit more capabilities, mobility and structural features. So the energy from the ant-body leaves and enters into a spider-body , which has a lot more capabilities, mobility and structural features than the ant body. “Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, it can only be transferred from one body to another”
After entering into the spider-body the same processes starts again. It travels more and more and its awareness about its surrounding and survival tactics increases. At the end the again expanded consciousness leaves the spider-body and enters into the more sophisticated cockroach body.
“The process of entering and leaving of energy into and out of the body is called as birth and death”
The process of transfer of energy occurs through different bodies later as in the order we told earlier. From cockroach to rat to hen to mongoose to dog to tiger to ape to human. After the consciousness enters into the human body the evolution process is mostly consciousness oriented rather than physical. It is a whole different story after the energy entered into human being.
