PAMPER YOUR FEET THIS SEASON

It’s time to say goodbye to the scorching heat as monsoon is here, but at the same time it’s time to deal with the tedious daily hassles amidst the muck and filth all around us, time to walk on the dirty pavements, tramping through floods, with our feet bearing the brunt of everything.

No matter how beautiful the rain is, it is essential to take care of our feet this season. Dr.Jamuna Pai (cosmetologist) says the feet are the most affected part of our body, especially during the rains, which calls for special attention. Fungal infections are rampant during the monsoon, on account of the dirt and muck all around. It’s astonishing that most of us follow a regimen for our skin and hair but forget our feet. So here’s what you need to do this season, to take good care of your feet.

KEEP YOUR FEET DRY

: Wet feet are prone to fungal and bacterial problems so keep your feet dry at all times. Also, keep a pair of extra shoes so that you always have something to change into when your footwear is wet. Furthermore, sprinkle talcum powder on your feet to repel moisture and keep them dry.

TRIM YOUR NAILS

Uncut nails collect dirt and germs which cause infection, so keep your toenails short.

THE RIGHT FOOTWEAR

It is very important to have the right pair of footwear during the monsoon. High heeled shoes or footwear completely covering your feet are an NO. Hence, prefer flip flops, floaters, sandals, gumboots, etc.  These will not only help your feet breathe but also won’t wear out soon.

EXFOLIATE

Exfoliation is extremely important during this season; you can do it during your bath. Soak your feet in lukewarm water or water at room temperature for about 10 minutes. You may add a foot soak or a mild shampoo and then scrub your feet with the various foot scrubbers or a pumice stone. Aromatic oils or rose water could also be added to the water.

Foot Moisturisers

After the scrub, apply a good moisturiser to your feet.

Foot Mask

Keep your feet hydrated and smooth just like your face with a foot mask. This will help remove all the dead skin cells. Make a mask with Multani matti, neem, turmeric and lavender oil or jasmine oil by adding some water. Apply this mask to your feet and leave it for about half an hour and then wash it with water. Then, apply olive oil to moisture your feet.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR WOUNDS

The healing time of wounds is comparatively more during the monsoon than in the summer or the winter season, so be cautious about them and cover them up well to avoid bacteria and germs.

PEDICURE

Whether done at home or in a spa, it’ll help you relax.

ANTISEPTIC GELS

These gels help in clearing the bacteria and fungus around the feet.  Leave them on at night and help your feet remain healthy.

GO FOR THE BEST

Use the best foot care products to keep your feet healthy.

It’s impossible to get away with all the dirt and mud, but our feet need to be treated well, so this monsoon, pamper your feet and have a HAPPY MONSOON!
