How to Edit Photos on Mac | FX Photo Studio Review

Today we will review the application for editing photos to perfection. It’s called FX Photo Studio CK, Welcome to the “FX Photo Studio CK Review”.

The FX Photo Studio Pro application is not a graphic editor, but rather a big library of various effects to be applied to photos and a few additional features, like rotating and saving images in different formats.

FX Photo Studio CK Review: Using

Let’s install the app and start using it.

To begin, choose a photo to edit by opening the right folder and making your choice.

You can see that the app opened the image and gave you many editing options that we’ll review one by one.

Using Effects in FX Photo Studio CK

The first thing that catches your attention is a great selection of Effects. If you know ahead of time the result you want, you can limit the number of Effects to choose from by selecting the relevant ones from the list.

Then on the left side of the screen you will see additional operating controls for photo editing that depend on the chosen filters. In this case, they are Saturation and Color Range. Move the slider to vary the parameters until you reach the desired result. To save the changes, click Apply.

FX Photo Studio Review: Additional Features

On the right of the panel, there is another editing feature—Edit Mask, but it doesn’t work for all the layers. If you need to select an object on the photo, it’s very easy to do. Save the desired Effect and then click Edit Mask. The app will show the original photo and an additional field on the right.

Using the brush, choose what part of the picture you want to select.

Select it. Change the brush diameter in the settings, as well as Softness and Opacity of the selected image. As you can see, the arc became white.

Choose Invert feature and get the desired result.

The arc is more prominent on the gray background. If you like what you see, click Done and go on.

At the bottom of the interface, FX Photo Studio CK provides a selection of frames. You can choose them manually or let the app choose one automatically.

To enlarge the picture and get a more detailed look, you can use special buttons.

FX Photo Studio CK provides a few other options. On the right side of the panel, you can see more Tabs: Crop and Adjust. Let’s talk about Crop.

This feature rotates the photo right or left,

creates a mirror image,

and turns the photo upside down or tilts it, if necessary.

If you need to resize the photo or crop out a photo fragment, use Crop Proportions feature.

As you can see, the app gives you a few options: full image that you downloaded for editing, Image size to choose the size of the image or the right fragment. To do that, go to the dropdown list, activate it, and set Width and Height. Once you set the Width, the app will adjust the Height and show the rectangle for selecting the right fragment that you can move all over the image.

Choose the right fragment and click Apply.

You are prompted to set standard size parameters. Once you set them, a grid appears for choosing the right image fragment.

The last tab provides options for adjusting everything you can think of: temperature, saturation, hue, exposure, brightness, contrast, shadows, highlights, sharpen, red, green, blue.

FX Photo Studio CK Review: Supported formats

It’s important to mention the number of formats supported by FX Photo Studio CK:

  • RAW images 8-bit, 16-bit (Including .NEF for Nikon and .CRW2 for Canon)
  • PSD
  • TIFF 8-bit, 16-bit
  • PNG
  • JPEG
  • Possibility to save progress (.focus) RGB
  • Plug-in support for host applications Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop Elements and Apple Aperture
  • RAW image support, up to a 16-bit depth

And in the end, we’d like to mention that as a rule, an edited photo could be saved on Mac and shared in social networks, as well as opened in another graphic editor app by Creative Kit for further editing.

FX Photo Studio CK provides the best results and is easy to use, so an amateur photographer can achieve the desired image quality without having to use a fancy graphic editor, like, for example, PhotoShop. The only thing that might stop you is the application’s relatively high cost. But there is a free limited Demo version that will help you determine whether you want to buy FX Photo Studio CK.
