Why you need to be at Bett 2018

For anyone involved in Education, the world of technology has played an increasingly significant part in the evolution of their roles in recent years. Accessibility of information, tools, people and activities are now not only expected in the modern learning environment, but they are essential in preparing today's young learners for the workplace of tomorrow.

For over 30 years, the Bett Show has brought together technological innovators and education industry leaders from all over the world to share ideas, practices and experiences that push the boundaries of teaching and learning into bolder, braver and more inclusive directions, to create a better future by transforming education. As well as an exhibition floor packed full of hundreds of leading EdTech companies, start-ups and charitable organisations, Bett boasts an enviable line-up of speakers across various stage and stands. Over the years keynotes have been delivered by senior government ministers, tech leaders, and highly respected industry experts.

At Bett 2017, speaker highlights included the return of Sir Ken Robinson, UK Schools Commissioner Sir David Carter, and a host of other luminaries helping to inspire attendees by sharing their wisdom, knowledge, vision and ambition. Microsoft WWVP Education Anthony Salcito also took to the stage in the Bett Arena, demonstrating how we are delivering on the Microsoft company mission [to empower every individual and organisation on the planet to achieve more] within education, through the provision of numerous initiatives, tools, communities, courses and programmes that enable educators and students to transform teaching and learning in increasingly innovative and inspiring ways.

Continuing to set the standard for thought leadership in education - both from a pedagogy and technology perspective - Bett 2018 has another comprehensive schedule of speakers and topics, both in the main Bett Arena and across the wider exhibition on the specialist stages positioned across the show floor.

Microsoft @ Bett

As a global partner of Bett, the UK show is always a special occasion for all of us at Microsoft in Education. As well as being a fantastic opportunity to meet with education leaders, teachers, support staff and learners of all ages, we are fortunate to be joined each year by representatives from many of the institutions we work with, who kindly give up their time to share their stories. By engaging with the wider audience and demonstrating the ways in which they have utilised technology to improve teaching and learning outcomes, we are able to showcase in real terms the ways in which Microsoft is delivering on its promise to empower the educators and learners of today to build the world of tomorrow.

The Microsoft stand at Bett has seen some truly memorable moments over the years, whether it be transformational stories being told in our Learn Live Theatre, teachers learning new skills in our hands-on training areas, or students building wild and wonderful worlds in Minecraft: Education Edition in the Games Based Learning corner of our estate. We have also given many visitors their first experiences with new and cutting-edge technologies that have the power to transform education, including HoloLens, Surface Studio and Learning Tools to name but a few.

Recent years have seen the growth of the Microsoft in Education Partner presence at Bett, with the Partner Village of 2016 expanding to include even more trusted partners in 2017, and this year we are looking forward to unveiling the all-new Microsoft Campus to everyone at the show.

In a forthcoming blog ahead of the event itself, we’ll dive into greater detail on what to expect from Microsoft at Bett 2018, including details on the layout and different experiential areas of the Microsoft Campus, the different speakers and sessions in our Learn Live Theatre, our partner presence, and all the other ways in which you can interact with us over the course of the four days. In the meantime, you can start to plan your trip to the show by visiting the event website and learn more about the Microsoft Experience at Bett.
