MIEE Spotlight – Susan Sey

As part of today's MIEE Spotlight, we're taking a look at MIEE Susan Sey and how her hard work as a Learning Technologist for Aberdeenshire Council serves to support and empower educators in providing learners with necessary digital skills.

One of Susan's most successfully utilised digital tools is Sharepoint, where she has done fantastic work to develop Aberdeenshire Council's Glow interface using Sharepoint sites. Using the various customisable tools within Sharepoint, Susan has been able to make a resource hub for educators that is visually appealing and simple to navigate whilst remaining accessible for those with visual impairments.

To tackle teacher workload, Susan has done great work to encourage educators to take advantage of OneDrive. Within OneDrive, educators are easily able to create and upload resources that they can then access anywhere using the Cloud. Through these open and shareable resources, educators can quickly collaborate within their wider education community in order to produce outstanding resources.

Within the classroom, Susan has also been passionate about promoting the usage of Minecraft: Education Edition to engage students in a variety of STEAM topics across the curriculum. One of the exciting projects that Susan and her daughter and taking part in is Build It Scotland where students are challenged to recreate Scotland's iconic monuments!
