Since Microsoft changed the release model in Windows 10, users are interested in finding out which build of Windows 10 they have installed on their PCs.
To determine which edition of Windows 10 is running on your computer?
You probably know the version but do you know exactly which build number it is?
There are several ways to find the build number of the installed Windows 10 operating system.
Using About Windows Menu
Open up the run command with the Win + R key combo
type winver into the run command text box and hit OK
This will open the About Windows window displaying the Windows version and the build number in it.

you can also launch winver manually, you’ll find winver.exe located in C: > Windows > System32.
Double click on it this will open same About windows.
Using the Command Prompt
Just press the Windows key + R to open the Run box.
Type cmd and press Enter.
At the Command Prompt, type systeminfo and press Enter.
This will display detailed information about your computer, including Windows version, build number, OS install date, hotfixes installed.
Find the Windows 10 build number in the Registry
Open Registry Editor (see our detailed tutorial about Registry Editor if you are not familiar with the Registry).
Negivate to the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
In the right pane, you will find everything you need to know about Windows 10's build number.
Check Build no Using the Settings App
Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app, or click Settings from the Start menu.
From the Settings window, click on System.Click About tab in the left pane.
Here you’ll see your Windows 10 version, and know you’re running 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 10.
Check Build Number Using System properties
Right-click on This PC on your desktop and select Properties from the context menu. The This PC could also be found at the left pane of Windows Explorer.

while the “System type” entry here displays whether you’re using a 64-bit or 32-bit edition of Windows 10.
Show Build number on Desktop
To display build number on desktop like show on picture fallow bellow steps
press Win+R and type Regedit and press Enter key
When User Account Control asks you Yes or No, select Yes
Now navigate To fallowing
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Making sure you've selected Desktop in the left pane, next, look for PaintDesktopVersion in the right-hand pane of alphabetical entries Double-click on it and change value data 0 to 1 click ok close window .
Press the 'Restart' button
That's it, you should now see the Windows version painted on your lovely Windows 10 desktop,
