How To Change the Destination of Your Skype Received Files

Are you a Skype user? I know you are. If you aren’t, this article wouldn’t have caught your attention. Skype is one of the pioneers in video calling business.

Today. a number of video calling services are available as apps and websites but still Skype hasn’t lost its charm. Before  few years, Skype was bought by the tech giant, Microsoft. They didn’t decrease the glow of the software. Instead, it became easy for us to integrate our Microsoft account with the Skype.

I myself use Skype with a Microsoft account. It is an added benefit for all the Microsoft account holders who haven’t taken an account in Skype.

On some other day, I was randomly chatting with one of my clients. He sent me a document containing the information about the work. But guess what? I couldn’t find out the location of the file when the download process gets finished.

That’s why today I am here with a tutorial post on Skype. Here, you are going to learn how to change the destination of your Skype Received Files.

Usually, all the Received Files are saved in AppData / Roaming/ Skype / My Skype Received Files. But it is a tedious task to figure this location out. You are not going to find this unless and until you access some least known directories in C drive.

How To Change the Destination of Your Skype Received Files?

It is easy to change the destination of your Skype Received files. You don’t have to rack your brain for that. With the cost of a few clicks, the entire process can be finished.

Follow the steps given below to change the destination of your Skype received files.

Step 1: Open your Skype desktop app by clicking the shortcut on start menu, quick launch or desktop.

Step 2: You should access the options menu now. Go to Tools> Option or just press Ctrl+ , (comma) simultaneously.

Step 3: From a bunch of options you see there, simply click on IM& SMS menu.

Step 4: Under the IM submenu, you can see an Advanced options link. Without a second thought, just click on it.

Step 5:  Look under ‘When I receive a file…’ and click on the button that says Change folder.

Step 6: You will now see a dialogue box where the browsing of folder should be done.

Step 7: After doing all the above steps, just hit Save button. That’s all.
