I know it’s a late to talk about how to make a Bootable Usb disk for Windows 8 as the next generation Windows OS is already here. But for those who still like Windows 8.1, I am presenting this.

Follow the steps given below to know how to make a bootable USB disk for Windows 8.

Step 1: Unlike the earlier versions of Windows, you don’t have to depend on any third-party tool or command prompt for bootable USB disk creation as Microsoft has an official Media Creation Tool. You can download it from here.

Step 2: Don’t forget to run the software. At first, you need to choose the language.

Step 3: Then, you will be provided with different Windows 8.1 versions including Pro, Pro N, Single language etc. Select one among them.

Step 4: The next step is choosing the bit size. You can see the option for the same just right to Architecture. I recommend choosing the 64 bit OS if your processor supports it. Right click on My Computer and select Properties from the menu to know the processor architecture.

64 bit allows you to make use of the maximum resources.

Step 5: Click Next and it’s time to plug your device into the port to make a bootable USB disk for Windows 8. It should have the size of at least 4 GB. Make sure that the USB disk has no important data. Wait some time to get it recognized.

Step 6: Select USB drive when asked to choose the location for saving the ISO file. Click Next.

Step 7: On the next step, you will be provided with multiple choices to choose the correct USB disk. If you have more than one flash drive connected with it, select the one you want to make bootable.
