How to Disable WordPress Comments Completely?

In order to disable comments completely both on posts and pages, you need to download and activate a plugin called Disable Comments.

It is available for free to download in WordPress repository. Follow the steps given below to go through the entire process.

Step 1: As I mentioned earlier, you need to download Disable Comments plugin to get started. Don’t forget to activate it after downloading.

Step 2: You will have a new link to the Settings option called Disable Comments. Click it without hesitation.

Step 3: Choose the first option that says ‘Everywhere’ and Save changes.

Hurray! You have successfully disabled comments on your WP blog. If you want to be specific about posts, pages or media, go with the second option.

How to Disable Comments on a Particular Post?

Most of the times, we don’t like to cease user engagement on the entire blog. In such a scenario, you can disable comments on a specific blog post or page.

Step 1: Sign into your blog and go to All posts. From all the posts, click Edit for the one you want to disable comments.

Step 2: Have a look at the top. Just below the admin’s navigation bar, you can spot Screen options. Click on it reveal more options.

Step 3: Tick discussion from there.

Step 4: Scroll down to see Discussion options. Uncheck Allow comments and then update the post.
