Custom software and Mobile App Development company Twentyseven Global is proud to announce that our client, Play-it Health, is one of 20 finalists in contention to win $500,000 in grant funding from LaunchKC.

Play-it Health, founded by Dr. Kim Gandy, physician and entrepreneur, came to life when Gandy recognized that her patients were having trouble engaging with and adhering to their ­medical regimen. As a result, Gandy tapped Twentyseven Global to build out a health engagement solution featuring a clinician portal and a mobile app called Plan-it Med. The app provides education so that users can better engage with their health regimen. Users can also receive reminders for taking medications and multiple other health elements as well as have the chance to accumulate points that can be redeemed for retail purchases.

According to Startland News, of the 20 finalists, eight startups will be awarded a $50,000 grant  from LaunchKC, and one firm will receive a grand prize of $100,000 after a live pitch competition during Techweek Kansas City, which is scheduled from September 11 to September 15. In addition to the grant funding, the nine winning startups will also score 12 months of free office space in downtown Kansas City, invaluable mentorships as well as opportunities to rub shoulders with powerful entrepreneurial leaders from around the metro.

The 20 finalists beat out more than 400 international startup applicants. Fourteen hail from the Kansas City metro, five from five different U.S. states and one international business from Ukraine is also a contender.
