Hundreds of entrepreneurs lined up in Centennial, Colorado, last month for a chance to deliver a one-minute pitch to the casting agents of ABC’s popular show “Shark Tank.” The show features a panel of millionaire and billionaire Celebrity Investors such as Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec. Each season, anywhere from 30,000 to 40,000 entrepreneurs apply for an audition, but only 80 to 100 Startups will face the sharks on national television.

According to the Denver Post, the show’s supervising casting producer Mindy Zemrak spoke highly of the turnout in Denver. Zemrak anticipated to hear pitches from nearly 400 to 500 entrepreneurs, and was particularly excited to get a firsthand glimpse into Denver’s booming tech startup sector. In addition to startups in the Denver and Colorado region, entrepreneurs from Texas, Chicago and more traveled to Centennial for a chance to audition.
