Browsers also demand to be Open Source Technologies because of which automated has become slow and browser vendor emphasis on web security and stability which has become serious issue for web testers to bypass the UI restricting access.

With all these changes are introduced new software testing tool called Selenium During the coming year, I think we’re going to see more and more vendor- based test tools embrace open-source tools like Selenium.Selenium is not just a single tool but a set of tools that helps testers to automate web-based applications more efficiently.

Let us now read about the tool available in Selenium Suite:-

1. Selenium IDE (Integrated Development environment) – It provides a Graphical User Interface for recording user actions using Firefox which is used to learn and use Selenium, but it can only be used with Firefox browser as other browsers are not supported.

2. Selenium RC (Remote Control) –It allows us to write automated web application UI tests with the help of full power of programming languages such as Java, C#, Perl, Python and PHP to create more complex tests such as reading and writing files, querying a database, and emailing test results.

3. Selenium Webdriver – WebDriver is designed to provide a simpler, more concise programming interface in addition to addressing some limitations in the Selenium-RC API.It is used in Multi-browser testing including improved functionality for browsers which is not well-supported by Selenium RC

4. Selenium Grid – Selenium Grid is a tool that distributes the tests across multiple physical or virtual machines so that we can execute scripts in parallel.It accelerates the testing process across browsers and across platforms by giving us quick feedback.Selenium Grid allows us to execute multiple instances of WebDriver tests in parallel which uses the same code,hence the code need NOT be present on the system they execute.Selenium Grid has a Hub and a Node.
