We got some clarifications on the role from the manager and here is what we need to focus on – This is part of the Risk Management group. They are OK with non-financial folks though. They need technical geeks who are solid in Core Java, API’s and some Hadoop would help. This group builds frameworks which is used by everyone else in the technology groups at Client.
this is from the IB (investment banking) division, so need someone from an IB background, strong Core Java (multi-threading, collections, concurrency etc) with comes C++ background will be a perfect fit. Candidates having either Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB would be a huge plus.
Skill and Experience:
- Excellent programming skills in Java (or excellent C++ with some Java considered)
- Ability to learn new proprietary programming languages.
- Industry experience a plus.
- Trading Risk/ Analytics a plus, including SecDb or Quartz
- Real-time/ live data systems experience a plus, including Client-Server-DB architectures
- Hands-on technical profiles needed. Coding most of the time.; not development managers
- Strong communication skills
Role Features:
- Self-starter in a nimble team of developers responsible for designing and building the shareable/ extensible components.
- Hands-on development primarily in Java but in a multi-language environment.
- Work with business line developers, business analysts and project managers to see their software through to live implementation.
- Involved in the entire lifecycle of SRP projects, including second-line support.
- Communicate Design Ideas and take part in peer reviews.

• 4 years of experience with IB front office risk system
• Experience of being involved in delivering large scale distribute systems
• Experience with multi-threaded distributed systems
• Experience with messaging systems
• Experience with Core Java
• Experience with C# a bonus
• Strong background in data analysis within complex software environments
• Capable of describing practical day-to-day analysis techniques used in order to achieve goals
Java Skills
• Deep understanding of core Java libraries such as concurrency, collection and networking
• Demonstrable Java testing skills (e.g. JUnit or Mockito)
• JDBC is a plus
• Java2D, JPA, JMS are plus
• One or more of followings are a plus: Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB
.NET Skill (not required but a plus)
• Understanding of core C# concepts, including collections, concurrency, locking, thread pools
• Demonstrable NUnit and C# testing skills
• Experience with COM objects and integrating with COM objects is a plus
• Experience with Excel Add-ins a plus
• Experience with ExcelDNA a plus
