A diversified industrial and manufacturing company with 2500+ employees is looking for experienced techno-functional Business Intelligence (BI) The company has six different business units with
different back end ERP systems, and has embarked on a multi-phase Cognos Express business intelligence project to provide corporate management consolidated and granular information to aid in business decision making.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with team members to co-ordinate, plan, gather, filter, clarify, understand and document business requirements primarily in the finance and accounting function.
2. Develop and update project plans, and provide timely status reports to management team. Develop and update documents covering issues, policies, decisions, configurations, and training.
3. Installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and support of BI (Cognos Express).
4. Hands-on programming using various technologies for data extraction from disparate sources, and automating reports by developing formulas/calculations.
5.. Hands-on development, enhancement, and maintenance of cubes, reports and dashboards.
6. Set up reports and dashboards and underlying infrastructure so they are easily & readily accessible in desktops, laptops, mobile devices, etc.
7. Compare data from different sources and dimensions, and provide differentials as and when needed.
8. Collect, organize, synthesize, & analyze data. Monitor program execution for expected performance. Troubleshoot programs &data, and summarize findings and develop conclusions when there are issues.
9. Administration of IBM Cognos Express systems including technical change management (development, test &production environments), implementation of patches, deployment of packages, performance tuning, and security set up and maintenance.
Qualifications
1. 3+ years of relevant experience in core financial planning, budgeting, and accounting concepts, processes and practices.
2. Bachelor's degree in information technology or finance/accounting.
3. 4+ years BI experience using Cognos Express including Advisor, Planner, Reporter, Xcelerator, Connectors, Clients, Web Portal, Express Manager, etc.
4. Experience with TM1 preferred.
5. 5+ years of data integration experience and exposure to relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server etc.
