Client is a leading provider of bank platforms and insured banking products. Client was founded by a team of experts in the financial industry with decades of experience in cash management, technology, operations, and product creation & delivery.
The Software Engineer III will be a member of the Software Engineering team and report to the Director of the team. The team is composed of both senior and junior members with experience in the financial services and software engineering sectors, including Fortune 500 companies.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop prototypes and full-featured internal and client-facing web applications using Java, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX and J-Query.
• Develop and enhance business logic services.
• Develop and enhance applications using Microsoft SQL Server databases – design, create and modify tables, relationships, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Work closely with the Director of Software Engineering and the Director of Infrastructure to advance our technical architecture strategy and vision.
• Lead internal research and development sessions to identify and select new technologies which support product requirements and follow industry trends.
• Design and conduct unit testing, systems integration testing and regression testing.
• Gather and document user requirements.
• Write technical and/or design documentation.
• Provide accurate estimates for the team’s requirements, design, development and testing efforts.
• Collaborate with and mentor junior team members to review their work and resolve issues.
• Proactively identify project risks and issues, and develop strategies to mitigate and resolve them.
• Adhere to the company’s SDLC policies regarding source code control, code reviews and sign off, and release promotion.
• Learn the technical and functional aspects of the company’s existing proprietary systems, and monitor and respond to communications from the help desk, infrastructure and end-users to provide support for these systems in coordination with other team members.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study.
• 10+ years of experience in software development in Java.
• Experience in financial services or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and in a group.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and manage multiple tasks.
• Adaptable, willing to learn new things and take on new challenges.
• Team player who will contribute to the company's culture of collaboration, accountability, and above-expectations performance.
