iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus With an Aluminum Frame Survive Durability Test

Apple recently unveiled the Iphone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, alongside the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Since their release, the phones have undergone various tests, including durability tests revealing that the iPhone 15 Pro Max, with its titanium frame, is prone to easily shattering its rear glass. However, a recent durability test shows that the lower-end models of the iPhone 15 series, with aluminum frames, are not easily breakable.

In a video shared on the YouTube channel JerryRigEveything, both the standard iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus are subjected to a series of tests to assess their durability. The phones, equipped with Apple’s Ceramic Shield protection, showcase almost complete resistance to scratches, with only minor lines visible after multiple attempts to scratch them. However, the aluminum body, including the side edges, base, and upper arch of these iPhone 15 devices, is vulnerable to scratching. Nevertheless, when attempting to bend the phones from both the back and the front, the structural strength of the models remains intact. The iPhone 15 Pro Max fails this test, as its rear panel cracks during the bending process.

Packed with Apple’s in-house A16 Bionic SoCs, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED displays, respectively. They are also IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

Regarding the camera capabilities, both phones are equipped with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens at the rear. Additionally, the handsets boast a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front. The base model claims to offer a battery life of up to 20 hours, while the Plus model reportedly provides up to 26 hours of battery life.

The iPhone 15 is priced starting from Rs. 79,900 in India, while the iPhone 15 Plus starts at Rs. 89,900. These phones are available in storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. They can be purchased in India through official online and offline stores, as well as e-commerce platforms and select retail stores. Buyers have the choice of Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Yellow color variants.
