However, the development costs of GTA 6 could surpass those figures, with reports asserting that it could have an estimated budget ranging from $1-$2 billion! Currently, the most extravagant game is Star Citizen, which is still in development, with over $500 million already invested. If the leaked GTA 6 development cost is accurate, it would not only make it the priciest video game ever but also one of the most Expensive forms of media ever created. This news was unveiled by @GTAVInewz in an X post, suggesting that GTA 6 could become “the most expensive entertainment product of all time”.
Price of each GTA 6 copy
This disclosure has sparked rumors about the game’s pricing, with reports alleging that GTA 6 copies could be priced at an astounding $150. Most video games nowadays are sold for $59.99, while the latest AAA titles for the current-generation consoles are priced at $69.99. Games are available in various editions, with the standard version including only the game. The pricier versions offer numerous add-ons, such as exclusive skins, maps, weapons, currency, and other in-game content.
As soon as this rumor surfaced, it garnered disheartening responses from gamers on social media, with people clearly dissatisfied with the prospect of paying such a substantial amount for a game. Currently, Rockstar is charging $59.99 for the remastered editions of its previous GTA games, such as GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas, so the alleged price of GTA 6 should not come as a surprise.
