On September 12, Apple unveiled the much-anticipated iPhone 15 series at its Wonderlust event. The tech giant, based in Cupertino, introduced a total of four models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Similar to last year, the iPhone 15 Pro models now feature a new A17 Pro SoC, with Apple retiring the ‘Bionic’ name for the latest chipsets. To our surprise, a substantial portion of the launch event was dedicated to highlighting the gaming capabilities of the iPhone 15 Pro models, with Apple announcing the arrival of several console games on iPhones.

Now, Capcom, the developer of the Resident Evil franchise, has officially confirmed that Resident Evil Village will soon be available on the iPhone 15.

Key details about the launch of Resident Evil Village

During the Tokyo Game Show 2023, Capcom unveiled that Resident Evil Village will be released for the iPhone on October 30. According to a report by 9to5Mac, the game will be exclusively available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as iPad models equipped with M1 SoC or later. Resident Evil Village will be priced at $39.99 on the App Store, and a single purchase will unlock the game on both iPhones and iPads, with progress synchronization across devices.

An additional DLC for the game, titled ‘Winters’ Expansion,’ will be available for an extra cost. As stated by Apple, users will need to purchase this DLC separately for $19.99. Although Resident Evil Village is already accessible on Macs, it requires a separate purchase and will not automatically unlock on iPhones and iPads, even if you already own it on a Mac.

Capcom has also announced that Resident Evil 4 will be arriving on iPhones and iPads later this year. Unlike Resident Evil Village, RE4 will be available as a universal purchase. Once you buy it, the game will be accessible on all platforms, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

The A17 Pro SoC featured in the iPhone 15 Pro models introduces console-level gaming for the first time on an iPhone. It includes hardware-accelerated ray-tracing, which Apple claims is four times faster than software-based ray-tracing. This SoC enables more immersive AR applications and provides console-level gaming performance with games such as Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
