Can You Wash Your Feet in a Bidet?

Often described as a small bath, standalone bidets can be used to Wash your feet. You can do this by filling it with water and submerging them or by hovering them under the faucet, one at a time, rested on the base, and scrubbing, or whatever other technique you want to use.

The fact of the matter is, like you can wash your feet in your kitchen sink if you wanted to, you can do the same with a standalone bidet. Heck, you could even use as a makeshift cold water aquarium if you wanted to — there are no rules about what it can and can’t be used for. It won’t break into a million pieces just because you put your foot in it, and you shouldn’t contaminate your feet because 1) You should be cleaning your bidet regularly; and 2) You should be Washing with soap.

In fact, standalone bidets are ideal for washing your feet. They’re often lower down than a bath, so you don’t have to stretch your legs uncomfortably high, and more often than not they have hot running water, so you can get a good clean going. You’ll just want to make sure you’re cleaning the bidet regularly and aren’t washing your feet immediately after you’ve cleaned your behind, before disinfecting the bidet bowl, which you should be doing at least once a day.

Avoid These Types of Bidet

Of course, there are some types of bidets you probably won’t want to wash your feet in. We’re talking about toilet seat bidets and all-in-one bidet toilets. While you could technically pop your foot in and flush, or switch on the bidet hovering your feet over the bowl, it isn’t quite the same as using a standalone bidet because you don’t actually poop into those. You can technically wash your feet in a bidet toilet if you wanted to, but it would be a bit like washing your feet in a regular toilet.

Invest in a Foot Bath

Better yet, invest in a foot bath. They’re small, inexpensive and are a lot more sanitary if you’re anything like me and you want to keep the areas that wash your poop away and the rest of your body separate. They’re also a lot more relaxing, featuring massage water jets that gently massage your feet after a long day at work. Trust me — pop your tootsies in this in the evening in front of the television with a glass of wine and all of your troubles will go away.
