The Client

The client is a large HVAC manufacturer based out of Germany in Europe with operations across the globe.

The Need

The client had a hybrid mechanism of Exchange setup and needed to consolidate their systems into a common environment.​

​With 100+ users on Office 365 and 500 users on Exchange 2013, the client wanted to consolidate their office 365 setup which was deployed across a few countries in Europe with 4 domains and domain controllers in each country, and migrate to a single office 365 tenant for ease of maintenance and GDPR compliance.

The Challenge

The Client had 5 different operation centers across different countries, each having its domain and setup associated with the primary domain controller. The users in the US region were purely using office 365 and the users across different environments were on Microsoft teams which must be migrated as well.

The challenging task of this project was to carefully plan the Migration process and consolidate all the domain controllers (DC’s) considering the time zones and the number of users at different locations to set up a unified tenant on office 365 without hassles.

Solution

• Our Experienced consultants carried out phased migration of users from different countries via batch migration and tenant to tenant migration for users purely on Office 365 who were 100 in number.
• The solution involved setting up an office 365 tenant in Germany to migrate users from the US and set up with AD via AAD connect.
• Nearly 600 users were migrated in batches by setting up hybrid migration for each deployment of Office 365.
• Successful migration was carried out of all user teams, conversations, and files including SharePoint and Teams/ OneDrive data to the new Office 365 tenant.
• Barracuda, spam filter was set up for additional protection and data backup for their retention policies.
• We audited the tenant for GDPR, set up security rules and policies to ensure compliance with data security, and set up retention policies per their approved guidelines.​
• Training and support were also provided to the client to ensure O365 adaptability.​​
