Before going to connect to a Virtual Private Network on your computer, you just need to have a VPN profile on the computer. If you don’t have a VPN profile on your computer, then first you have to create this. 

How to Create a VPN Profile? 

In the ‘Add a VPN connection’, perform the following steps: 

1. Select the ‘Windows (built-in)’ option for the VPN provider. 
2. Type a name in the ‘Connection name’ space. This is the name that you will look for while connecting. 
3. Enter the VPN server address in the ‘Server name or address’ field. 
4. Select the VPN connection type that you wish to create.
5. Afterward, select the ‘Type of sign-in info’ option. Here you have to enter the User Name and Password in the specific field. 

Now, click on the Save button. If you want to edit the VPN connection info, additional settings, proxy settings, select ‘VPN connection’ and then choose the ‘Advanced options’ option. 

After creating a VPN profile, you are ready to connect. 

How to Setup a VPN Server?

1. First of all, click on the Network icon from the right side of the taskbar. 
2. Choose the VPN connection that you wish to use and then do one of the following depending on what happens while choosing the VPN connection: 
   • If you see the Connect option displays under the ‘VPN connection’ section, click on the Connect button. 
   • If it opens the Settings, chose the ‘VPN connection’ and then tap on the Connect button. 
3. Now, it will ask you to enter the login credentials. Type the User Name and Password in the specific field. 

Once the VPN connects successfully to the device, the name of the ‘VPN connection’ will be displayed underneath the ‘Connected’ icon. To confirm that you are connected to a VPN server, click on the Network icon and see if the VPN connection shows ‘Connected.’
