If you are a Linux addict, probably a Ubuntu user, then you might be missing the multiple desktop workspaces in your Windows PC.
Multiple Desktop Workspace enables you to keep different related works on different workspaces, and lesser the cluttering on a single desktop.
Native Workspace Switcher of Ubuntu gives you the power to use 4 workspaces.

Similarly, when you are on Windows, you can go for Windows' Native and Recommended Workspace Switcher - Windows Sysinternals. It also gives you 4 workspaces.

Although it is not as powerful as of Ubuntu, but its very light and easy to use (just 115 KB) and this is why I love and recommend the native software and not any third party!
Windows users can also use VirtuaWin and Dexpot.
Linux users can make use of Compiz, and since I am not a frequent Mac user, so I cannot suggest a particular software but I found this link very useful for them.
