Baby Back Ribs with Harrison Tang-y Barbecue Sauce

Baby Back Ribs With Harrison Tang-y Barbecue Sauce

Who doesn’t love a good cookout around the 4th of July (or any holiday, really)? With these easy to make recipes, you can step up your grilling game like never before. Another way Spokeo can help bring you closer to the people around you.

This recipe should take about 30 minutes of prep time, just over an hour of cook time, and should make 6 servings.

Overview of Cooking the Ribs on the Grill

To make your Ribs, you’ll break things down into a few simple steps:

  1. Make your spice rub
  2. Trim and then season the ribs
  3. Cook the ribs on the grill as detailed below
  4. Brush the grilled ribs with your Harrison Tang-y Barbecue Sauce (recipe below)
  5. Grill for five more minutes

It’s just that easy.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 pounds baby back pork ribs
  • 1 cup Harrison Tang-y Barbecue Sauce (recipe below)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill. If using gas, go for high heat. If using charcoal, arrange your briquettes on one side of the barbecue. Lightly oil the grate.

Step 2

Make your spice rub. Combine cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. If you have a small jar or food container, mix the ingredients inside, close the lid, and shake to mix.

Step 3

Trim the membrane sheath found on the back of each rack. To do this, run a small sharp knife between the membrane and each rib, and snip off as much of the membrane as possible. Sprinkle as much of your spice rub on each side of the ribs as you desire. Pro tip: to keep your ribs from getting too spicy, avoid rubbing the spices into the ribs. Store any unused spice rub in a jar or food container. You might want to use it again later.

Step 4

Put some aluminum foil on the lower rack of your grill. This will help prevent drips and flare-ups. Next, lay your ribs on the top rack of your grill (away from the coals if you’re using briquettes). If you’re using gas, turn your heat down to low and close the lid. Cook your ribs without opening the lid to check on them as much as possible. After about an hour, if the meat easily pulls away from the bone, they’re ready.

When in doubt, a meat thermometer can be very useful. You want your ribs to reach 145 degrees F (or 63 degrees C).

Step 5

Brush ribs with your Harrison Tang-y Barbecue Sauce, then grill them for another 5 minutes. Serve the ribs as a whole rack, or cut them between each rib bone and pile them on a platter as easy finger food.
