I found Tim Brandt on the web while searching for artists with Parkinson's Disease. I was immediately drawn in by his art and his Story. His drawings are amazing and I particularly love the "Let's Dance" series, as I had been to Buenos Aires a number of years ago and was seduced by the Tango.
I had written to Tim with the interest of writing about him and including his work on the Arteeni website. He never Wrote back. I wrote to him again and this time my persistence prevailed. I got a great response and he welcomed the idea of being a part of our site. I also found out about his beach glass sculptures and was happy to send him a collection of tumbled glass I created long ago.
His story is compelling and he has embraced his affliction with humor and grace. My husband, Marc, is an active member of a group of Parkinson's People, or as Tim calls them, Parkies, who box a few times a week at Delgado's Boxing Gym in Sandy Springs Atlanta. The group calls themselves the PD Gladiators. Well, I not only now box with them, but upon going to their site, I found out that Tim designed their logo (as seen on the left).
We live in a very small world and are somehow all connected.
