Remembering to Remember

We have all had a personal experience with Alzheimer's Disease. Both Jason's great grandmother and my own grandmother suffered from the disease. You might not even be aware of how many people you have known in your life who have had the disease, as many don't get diagnosed, and no one is immune from it. The good news is the Alzheimer's Association is helping to find cures, assisting families, supplying information and programs of connectivity, and bringing awareness of this affliction to all of us. Recently, I came across a terrific video of a gentleman named Sandy Halperin in Tallahassee, FL who was diagnosed with the disease in 2010. His story is heart wrenching and brings back memories of my grandmother who succumbed to the disease at the age of 74. Her decline was devastating.

Sandy Halperin's story is an inspiration, as he talks about his struggles and his determination to live life to its fullest while he is able, with his his wife, Gail. Please take the time to watch the video as it will provide information we all need to know.
