Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a remarkable organization that builds homes for our severely injured veterans that address their special needs, mortgage free.

On June 9, 2011, Marine Sergeant James "Matt" Amos was three months into his third deployment when he was thrown into the air by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sangin, Afghanistan. The incident caused him to lose both legs and break his pelvis.

Miraculously, he survived after being evacuated by helicopter to Camp Bastian in Afghanistan where he was stabilized and then sent to Landstuhl, Germany for a few days. Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to Bethesda Naval Medical Center for one week and then transported to Balboa Naval Medical Center where he endured more than a dozen surgeries.

So many of our troops who sustain unspeakable injuries come home to so many challenges. Just to be able to function doing everyday activities such as bathing, cooking, sleeping, etc. are just some of the obstacles in their lives. In this video, Matt explains how HFOT has changed his life.

Upon his retirement, he began to grow the traditional "Freedom Beard" as many servicemen do. He found a selection of beard oils on the market, but found that most of them were just too strong and fragranced for his skin. He began to research different oils and mixtures and found a blend ratio that is not irritating, not overpowering, and provides numerous benefits to his beard. This was the birth of his company, Admiral's Pennant which we are proud to support and represent. It is a fine product from a fine man who has bravely served our country.

Arteeni's mission is to promote American artisans and support our charity partners by donating a portion of each sale. For more information about Homes for Our Troops or to select them as your designated cause, Homes for Our Troops.
