Quick Review: Shiseido Ultimune

Tags: skin ultimune

I was given a chance to try Shiseido's newest serum, Ultimune (power infusing concentrate), courtesy of Sample Room. The generous sample size lasted me over two weeks and I still have a bit left.

This is more of a thick serum/essence and it claims to give Skin immunity, as it strengthens skin over time. I think it has (more or less) the same function as Clinique Even Better Essence or SKII.

Even with the thick texture it is easily absorbed by the skin, without any oily or greasy after-feel. It works well as a serum/essence, but dry skins may need to put additional moisturizer.

What I noticed was that it has amazing soothing qualities. It calms down redness, blemishes and makes my skintone more even.

As for its claims of "immunity" I have yet to see results because I only used this for two weeks. I think this product needs to be incorporated into a skincare regimen for long term in order to see if it does strengthen the skin.

Overall though I saw Shiseido's improvement in their formula with Ultimune. It does not have that silicone, mask-like feel that only creates the illusion of making skin imperfections disappear. It's a great pick-me-up for the skin, although it needs to be used frequently for a longer period for better results.
