THE COOL FANIMATION FAN DIFFERENCE

From the beginning in 1984 inside Founder and CEO Tom Frampton brought ingenuity and quality craftsmanship to every product they manufacture.  Today “Fanimation Fans” have gorgeous and unique designs found in luxurious resorts and homes around the world.  If you ever wanted something different and Tropical looking above the norm then this is a must stop to research.  Excellent designs for “Contemporary” and “Portables” are offered here too.

A few considerations must be understood when choosing your fan.  Location is everything.   I Recommend Fans that are exposed to the elements twenty four hours a day seven days a week to be “Wet Rated”.   Fans in a garage or humid environment should be “Damp Rated” and Fans for inside the rest of your rooms should be “Dry Rated”.  You should never take a fan rated for interior use and install it outside.  Wood loves moisture while it is still living as part of a tree, but can be destroyed after manufacturing, absorbing moisture over a period of time.  Wood Blades can warp and distort, absorbing moisture, and can throw off the balance of a moving fan design.

With Fans size does matter.  For “Small Rooms” a fan that measures fifty two inches or smaller is recommended.  For “Large Rooms” fifty two inches or larger is recommended.  For “Great Rooms” fans should be sixty inches or larger.  Ceiling fans should be positioned from seven to nine feet above a floor.  Charts for optional “Down Rods” can help with selecting the proper length for your ceiling height.

Features and benefits are important.  “Wall Controls” are convenient while “Remote Controls” let you have complete control while relaxing watching your favorite show on Television.  I recommend “Pull Chain” controls for patios with two or more fans.  “Light Kits” included with a fan may have a cap for non light use.  I always recommend it is better to have too much light and control it with the use of Dimmers from “Legrands” “Adorne” style of dimmers than to have too little.  Reversible fan directions can benefit your home in the Winter Months by circulating the warmer air near the ceiling to the floor.

A major consideration with the purchase of any “Ceiling Fan” is how much air does it move?  “CFM” stands for “Cubic Feet per Minute”.  My recommendation is to look for the air flow to be at least “6000 CFM”.  Some fans may be a little less and some fans may be a lot more.  The higher the number the more you can put the fan into a slower speed mode and still feel comfortable while the fan is on.

The Last item which is taking over new designs in “Ceiling Fans” is the “Motor”.  Traditional “AC Motors” are very reliable and efficient but “DC Motors” are slowly taking over.  “DC Motors” are more efficient, generate more torque and are virtually silent.  The size is much smaller than the “AC Motor” designs, but let me tell you, “Good things come in small packages”.  The new “DC Motor” creates a smaller foot print on the ceiling and has opened the doors to many new beautiful designs.

To mention one design that stands out research “Distinction DC”. Choosing from different “Motors”, “Blades”, “Light Kits” and “Finish” options will allow you to create your fan choice.

When people want to see something different in “Fan Designs” I recommend “Fanimation Fans”.  Styles such as “Palmetto”, “Bourbon Street”, “Palisade”, “Punkah”,

“Brewmaster” and “Kellan” are beyond different.  Most traditional fans move air horizontally to the floor.  Thinking outside the box allows for such cool designs moving air differently from the norm.

One of my favorite fans is the “Palisade”.  Two sets up “Blades” move air vertically to the floor.   Choose from different “Blade” designs and colors.  Choose from different “Light Kit” options and finish colors.  I love the “Monkey” accessory that clings to the support rod.

The “Bourbon Street” and “Palmetto” fans have complex systems, multiple components and special installation requirements.  “Fanimation” recommends contacting their customer service team for assistance with ordering.

For a fan with a wow factor mounted to a wall the “Punkah Fan” design has many “Blade” choices.  The unique design sweeps air back and forth with a Tropical design.  I always recommend having a “Licensed Electrician” install the products above.  Proper installations will create a professional outcome.  “Fanimation” backs all their Fans with a “Limited Lifetime Motor Warranty” and is “UL” listed.

The “Brewmaster Fan” carries on “Fanimation’s” reputation for reproducing unusual, yet functional, “Belt-Drive Fans”.  “Belt–Drive Fans” were originally produced in the late 1800’s.  “Snediker & Carr” were the “Premier Belt-Drive Fan Manufacturer” of their day.  “Fanimation” has adapted this beautiful and fantastic design with an easier installation and more durable products.  “Fanimation” replaced leather belts with “Neoprene Belting”.  “Hardwood Laminate Blades” replace solid wood blades that could split or warp.  Several Blade options including the original oversized wood blade design are offered.  The “Brewmaster Fan” is powered by a gearless direct drive motor and it can operate one or two fans.  The “Brewmaster Fan” is offered in “Antique Brass”, “Black” and “Pewter”. The “Brewmaster Fan” includes a “TR20WH” remote control.

For another design choice which requires very little labor to install check out the “Portables”.  The “Mini Breeze” has a traditional design where the “Urbanjet” has a cool design offered in “Baby Blue”, “Mysterious Black”, “Milky Ivory”, “Spicy Red” and “Sonic Silver”.

The “Mini Breeze” has one speed while the “Urbanjet” has three speeds.  Both of these fans are rated for indoors only.  For stand up “Portables” “Fanimation” offers two designs.  The “Arden” is offered in two finishes of either “Oil Rubbed Bronze” or “Satin Nickel”.

The “Old Havana Fan” also has a “Ceiling Mount” design and a “Wall Mount” design.  I love the coordinated opportunity this Fan design offers for multiple rooms.

Customer Service at “Fanimation” is professional and friendly.  I highly recommend researching “Fanimation” for “Contemporary” and “Alternative” “Fan Designs”. As always thanks for visiting Lighting Miami
