The Bargain Book Shop started off as a pop-up store (for those who still haven't heard of such a concept, it's simple: a bookstore appears at a place for a while, usually the owner has a lease for a couple of weeks/months, and then it changes location). Luckily, if a location turns out to be a good one, the bookstore just might find its permanent place there. And this is exactly what happened to the Bargain Book Shop. What's more, it now has two locations in the German capital of Berlin (the main one in the neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg, the other one near Kreuzberg). The store opened its doors in December 2011 and the owner Max Erbe definitely tries his best to offer the artsiest of the books at very affordable prices.

The Shop’s mix of ca. 2000 illustrated English-language and German books range from 5 to 50 EUR, with a few exceptions for special and collector’s editions, of course. The Bargain Book Shop, needless to add, but we will anyway, specializes in quality ned books on art, architecture, photography, design, children’s books and cookbooks. Most of the titles are from UK and US publishers, as well as some prominent German and international ones. A large amount of books is, of course, in the English language. And another thing, judging by the reviews online and the pictures we've managed to find, browsing in this bookstore is a delight to the eye. Also, make sure you check out their Facebook Page.
