We are always inspired by our designers, artists, and creators here at Arteeni. Ingenuity is found in the most unlikely places. In today's world it is spectacular to see people taking the tossed away treasures of others to create something new. Mason Hainey of Mizu Brand does just that.

Years ago, while looking for just the right bowtie, Mason was aghast at the quality and selection in stores. As many artists do, Mason decided to create his own. After purchasing three floral vintage dresses at The Salvation Army, he went home and created his first pieces in 2011. Voila, MIZU Brand was born. When he is not designing his haberdashery, he loves to cook, explore, travel, and learn. This is truly reflected in his products. His ties, bowties and pocket squares are often created from vintage Japanese kimono silks that are spectacular.

"I'm inspired by the unknown. Traveling to unknown places, both near and far fuels my mind. There are so many things you not only learn about yourself, but about the world and society as a whole when you travel and immerse yourself in foreign surroundings. My designs I aim to capture that brief, exciting moment of the unknown and to open your eyes to other ways of life. My goal is to inspire you to explore anything and go anywhere, to get the travel bug and share your amazing, inspiring stories with friends, who now have no choice to but to go explore the world themselves."

So, while in art school, on the path of becoming a fine art painter/illustrator, a career in fashion loomed on the horizon. Awareness of his "brand" started taking place from those ties that he created. People started inquiring about where to find his ties, so he was inspired to create MIZU Brand. He started by selling at the local "First Fridays" outside of his college and would sell out. We are glad that he did, because now we have access to his wonderful products.

Thank you Mason, for your ingenuity and style!
