Researchers and the food and beverage company have created food tools that simulate salty foods using an electric current.

 Taste-Adjusting Chopsticks is the name of this product.

Benefits and components of Taste-Adjusting Chopsticks:

Electric stimulation is provided by a small controller positioned in the user’s wrists that is attached to a black wristband. The controller is connected to the chopsticks through an electric wire through which IONS are activated in sodium chloride and glutamate.

Benefits include:

•  You can enhance the flavour of low-sodium foods without adding extra salt or compromising taste. 
• This will be beneficial for people with high blood pressure and who undergo a sodium diet and who suffer from chronic kidney disease and hypertension.
• It enhances a healthy diet through perception rather than using unhealthy ingredients

• “We have developed an Electrical Stimulation Waveform that controls perceived saltiness with a weak electric current and enhances the taste of low-sodium foods,”
• “When tasting low-sodium food samples, the perceived saltiness was enhanced by a factor of 1.5 when the developed electrical stimulation waveform was applied to the chopstick compared to without stimulation,”

Consequently, the sodium intake will be lowered to the level recommended by the World Health Organisation.
