Choosing the type of flooring for your place can be a bit stressful. There are too many things to consider, like price, durability, and maintenance. If you have been searching for the perfect flooring, you must have come across Yellow Tongue Flooring. In this article, you will get to know everything you need.

What Is Yellow Tongue Flooring?

Simply put, it is a structural-grade particleboard sheet used for the interior of domestic buildings. It is best suited for platform construction, where the walls are erected after the floor is laid.

The tongue and groove flooring is made using various materials so that it can be used in wet areas. It is the reason why this flooring is ideal for bathrooms and laundry rooms.

Yellow tongue flooring can bear some weather conditions; however, it is recommended to reduce exposure to such conditions by covering it. You can also use regular paint to paint it in case you want.

Three thicknesses of yellow Tongue Flooring are available – 19mm, 22mm, and 25mm. You should choose the one after considering your requirement.

Yellow Tongue Flooring Specifications

Regarding specifications, it is a unique combination of softness and hardness. The following are the specific features that make it more advantageous than others.

Environmentally friendly

One feature that makes Yellow Tongue flooring so perfect is its non-toxicity. It was made with the thought of environmental protection.

The right raw material

The use of high-density particleboard gives the product some weight and sufficient strength. The alloy nails used on this do not deform because of the choice of its raw material.

The ideal surface

The surface is not only smooth, but it is also uniform. This quality makes the surface easy to clean. Thus, there is no stress of maintenance.

Water resistance

The water-resistant nature of yellow tongue flooring makes it a perfect choice for floors that remain wet for longer. This quality is the result of the structural grade particleboard, which is known for withstanding moisture. For places like bathrooms and laundry rooms, this is the ideal choice.

No cracks

The strong cohesiveness of the tongue and groove jointing ensures no cracks. Another reason for the lack of cracks is the flatness of the floorboard.

Resistant nature

Is yellow tongue flooring termite resistant? Yes, which is why this product is so sought-after. Besides being water-resistant, the paint is also wear-resistant and does not fade quickly.

Easy to installs

Surprisingly, such a good product can be installed without any complications. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1 – Measure the area where the flooring will be installed and, using tape, mark out the dimensions.

Step 2 – Using a power drill, bear holes into the concrete floor. These holes are to insert the flooring’s tongue and grove locking system.

Step 3 – Place the planks over their proportionate holes. Now press down so that it clicks into place. Ensure that you have installed all the planks across the room.

Step 4 – The final step is adjusting the yellow tongue flooring sizes as per your need. You can use a scraper or utility knife to trim the excess material that may overlap with the surface next to it.
