“Machine pieced and is composed of 1-3/4″ squares & half-square triangles using my bountiful stash of batiks. There is no pattern. It was inspired by a block a member of my quilt guild (Souhegan Valley Quilt Guild) found online. The original size of the block was 20″. I reduced the size of the block to 10″.”

“This is 2nd Judy Niemeyer pattern I have done. Her patterns directions are always excellent. Pattern is called “Christmas Celebration”

Christine created this quilt by paper foundation piecing, from a 3 part article in a magazine. Pieced and quilted by Christine Kranzler She used metallic threads to outline the wings and tail. Wall hanging 30” x 24”

Janet entered her My Spendid Sampler 1st Generation, an online quilt along, Sponsored by Pat Sloan and designers from around the world. She used many if not all of the piecing techniques.

Gayle Larmond

“Dragonfly Moon.” The quilt pattern is an adaptation of Patti Carey’s (of Northcott) pattern called “Butterfly Beauty.” The quilting was done by Nancy Johnstone, a freehand artistic quilter from Minesing, Ontario, Canada.

“I ‘tried’ to use up the green scraps in my stash to make this Double Star Block Quilt. It didn’t exactly work, I’m not sure I actually have less scraps or not!?! Size is about 80 x 80 inches.”

Gather Around, pattern by Debbie Roberts and Anneliese Reed from the book Baskets Birds and Boughs, Quilts Year Round by Debbie Roberts. It is machine pieced with hand applique around the center block and then machine quilted.

Peppermint Forest using a wonderful array of batiks. The pantograph is called Pine Tree Meander.

“This is the second quilt I made from my geometry students at the school I work at (school year 2016-2017). This is one of two quilts that was given away to fundraise ~$1,900.00 for the math and scholars bowl clubs at our school. This is our school’s colors.” “Students drew these blocks in a 9″ block, I paper-pieced them and put the quilt top together, and Rick Stowers (from Becky’s Barn in Grimsley, TN) quilted it the quilt for free.” “This quilt was a huge challenge! There are two dragons (upper left and bottom right corners), three ‘Y’s (lower left corner, center, and upper right corner), an ‘A’ (center), an ‘I’ (center), a take on the mariner’s compass (diagonally located from the ‘I’), and the block directly to the left of the mariner’s compass had 171 pieces in it. Even though the quilt is hanging sideways, I hope you still enjoy this quilt!”

Julia Fuller

“My quilt started with a panel of 40 great 4” images of sea life that I imagined as a border. I fussy cut sea fabrics for center images and made sashing out of my greens and blues and used batiks for the posts and the outside border. The dark blue “water” fabric will also be the outside binding. The dog wanted to supervise the photography! I needed to recruit tall men to hold up this 93” square top.”
