The New Meteorite Dial Rolex Daytona

The meteorite dial design is not something new within Rolex’s catalogue. The watchmaker has introduced a few models with this dial type earlier. However, Rolex offered the dial to its new Daytona versions in a particular domineering style this time.

The dial features the staple rounded indexes, baton hands and three sub-dials. Rolex chose to upgrade the dial material to boast instead of changing the popular signature Daytona features.

  • The meteorite dial surface flaunts dynamic and striated silver tones. It further adds disarray feel to the design, making it look much modern.
  • However, the dial is made of solid meteorite element.
  • Apart from the new dials, Rolex has retained the same functionalities in the new Daytona watches.

The New Daytona Functionalities

Rolex cropped up with new Daytona versions for 2021, offering a similar 40mm case size as the previous siblings. Moreover, the new models will be available in 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, and the brand’s patented Everose rose gold. These precious metals add a unique personality to the familiar tachymeter bezel, tapering lugs and screw-down pushers.

  • The 18ct white gold Rolex Daytona is ideally the most enigmatic of all three, flaunting a black ceramic dial.
  • On the other hand, the 18ct yellow gold Daytona exhibits a more tool-oriented design.
  • The meteorite dial coupling with the whole gold body creates a dynamic feel.
  • And the 18ct Everose gold model looks more contemporary and subtler.

However, all the new meteorite dial Daytona watches are water-resistant up to 100m. The movement powering the new Daytona meteorite dial is the Calibre 4130. Over the last 20years, this in-house automatic movement has been powering the Daytona series.

Its impressive features include a vertical clutch system, column wheel and anti-magnetic Parachrom hairspring. However, the Calibre 4130 offers a power reserve of 72hours, and accuracy is -2/+2 seconds per day.

Now:

Rolex equipped the Everose gold and yellow gold Daytona meteorite dial models with the sportier Oyster bracelet. On the contrary, the watchmaker paired the white Daytona with an Oysterflex rubber strap, offering a more restrained look.

Overall, the new meteorite dial design adds a spacey and lively punch to the iconic Rolex Daytona series. Let’s know your opinion on the new Daytona meteorite dial.
