Taito Egret II mini arcade coming to europe

Taito Egret II mini arcade to be launched in europe for £166

Taito Egret II i an Arcade cabinet from 1996, famous for it’s rotating display that was perfect for the vertical shooters of the day as well as conventional display modes, the swiss-knife of arcade machines!

And in 2022, publisher ININ is bringing the Taito Egret Mini II to the UK, originally only planned for a Japanese release. This was announced just before Christmas 2021 by ININ, and now we know the price: €199.99 (£166).

This is definitely one of the more expensive mini arcades to-date, but it does come with 40 arcade classics and also features the neat 4:3 ration rotating screen from the arcade original, the sensor appears to be a mechanial sensor to detect whether you are in standard or vertical mode, and the build quality looks very high quality too, which is what you would expect for the money.

The western release will feature blue buttons, in place of the magenta ones that came with the Japanese launch, and it will be limited to 5,000 units worldwide.

The blue edition bundle is the cheapest version, and it comes with a special cup and cup holder (in the spirit of the cup holders from old school arcades). A set of mini instructions cards and an extra controller for 2-player modes is also available from Games Rocket.

The Blue Edition includes the trackball and paddle upgrade Set and comes with a unique controller and 10 additional games. You also get the mini instruction cards, an anniversary soundtrack, and a strategy book. It costs €319.99 (£266) from Strictly Limited Games.

Last but not least, the Game Center Blue Edition has everything from the Arcade Cabinet Blue Edition, plus two extra mini controllers and more. It costs €439.99 (£366) and is available from Strictly Limited Games.

Pre-orders have already started and the extra controllers can also be bought separately, the mini carcades themselves are all identical in build, so it depends on affordability of which one you buy.
