2019 Vape Travel Guide: Traveling With Vape Supplies

If you're a traveling vaper who's planning a trip in the near future, this post is for you. Before you head out, you want to be sure you know what's expected of you along the way. For instance, can you take Vape on a plane?

While vaping has certainly gained enormous popularity around the globe, there are still FDA restrictions, as well as customs, and regulations that apply to travelers. This is especially true if you will be encountering airports, boarding flights, or visiting international destinations.

No matter where you're headed, it's always a good idea to check out the customs of your destination. Even if the law protects your right to vape, you might find that it's frowned upon in certain environments.

Privately owned businesses may have their own rules about vaping, too. So, be sure you have permission prior to puffing when out and about in a foreign destination.

Can You Take Vape On a Plane?

The Transportation Security Administration addresses vaping devices and e-cigarettes in U.S. airports and during flights.

According to the TSA, the FAA prohibits these devices in checked bags when traveling. Their website states that "battery-powered E-cigarettes, vaporizers, vape pens, atomizers, and electronic nicotine delivery systems may only be carried in the aircraft cabin". This means that you are only allowed to carry your vaping products either on you or else in your carry-on bag.

Vape Liquid

If you are bringing vape oil with you on a plane, it's not likely to be an issue as long as you keep it beneath the 100 ml maximum that's set for liquids.

Also, make sure that it's packaged in a clear, resealable plastic bag so that you meet packaging requirements.

Any larger amounts should be packed in checked luggage. Many airports have restrictions about traveling with liquids of any kind so you may want to ask when you check in at the airport, just to be sure.

Chargers & Batteries

There's no need to bring a charger on the plane unless you will be using it before or after your flight. Airplanes will not allow passengers to charge their device onboard flights.

Vape batteries are not allowed to be packed in any of your checked luggage. So, if you're bringing extra batteries you will need to have them with you on-hand when you board the plane.

Some airlines restrict the number of batteries that you're allowed to bring on the plane. Be sure to review this type of information with your specific airline prior to boarding to avoid any potential trouble.

Vaping During Flights

Vaping during flights is prohibited. If you want to get to where you're going, it's not recommended that you attempt to vape after boarding your flight.

It's also not advisable to vape while you are inside the airport, restrooms, shuttle transport, or any public area that is either indoors or not well-ventilated.

If you need to take a vape break, look for signs or ask an airport employee for directions to a designated area. Many times, vapers will head to the smoking area to feed their habit.
