1. TOURIST VISA (TR)

1.1 ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS FOR TR VISA
This type of Visa is issued to applicants who are wishing to enter Thailand for tourism purposes only

1.2 TR VISA CONDITIONS
 -TR Visa is valid for a single entry into Thailand for tourism purposes only. The VISA category cannot be changed afterwards.
 -TR Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 3-month period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 60 days, counting from the date of entry. Extension is possible for another 30 days, with a maximum period of stay of 90 days, counting from the date of entry.
-If the TR Visa holder breaches the entry conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

1.3 TR VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Prepare required documents as follows:

  1. Completed application form  
  2. Passport with at least two empty pages and validity not less than 6 months from the date of planned entry to Thailand
  3. One recent passport-sized photograph (4×6 cm)
  4. Copy of registration of residency of India
  5. 6-month Bank Statement with funds not less than 500,000 INR maintained THROUGHOUT 6 months with Bank attestation
  6. Itinerary/ plan of journey and estimate date of travelling along with expected flight, airline and returned date.
  7. Booking confirmation of stay in Thailand
  8. Confirmed Returned flight ticket
  9. Health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of USD 20,000 stating clearly covering treatment and medical expenses related to COVID-19 during stay in Thailand.

– Visa processing fee: 2,500 INR – 

2. SPECIAL TOURIST VISA (STV) 

2.1 ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS FOR STV
This type of visa is issued to applicants who are wishing to enter Thailand for tourism purposes only.

2.2 STV CONDITIONS
-STV is valid for a single entry into Thailand for long-term tourism purposes only.
-STV is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travelers must enter Thailand within the said 3-month period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days, counting from the date of entry. STV may be extended twice while the visitor is in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days per each extension.
-STV cannot be changed to any other type of visa during the duration of stay in Thailand.
-If the STV holder breaches the entry conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

2.3 STV APPLICATION PROCEDURES
-Prepare required documents as follows:

  • Completed application form  
  • Passport with at least two empty pages and validity not less than 6 months from the date of planned entry to Thailand
  • One recent passport-sized photograph (4×6 cm)
  • Copy of registration of residency of India
  • 6-month Bank Statement with funds not less than 500,000 INR maintained THROUGHOUT six months with Bank attestation
  • Itinerary/ plan of journey and estimate date of travelling along with expected flight, airline and returned date.
  • Evidence of long-stay accommodation: either
    A fully-paid hotel reservation in Thailand for the whole duration of intended stay in Thailand (after the 14-day quarantine). The reservation must be issued by the hotel showing the duration of stay, and hotel’s contact details and tax ID number;
    A fully-paid residential lease in Thailand for the whole duration of intended stay in Thailand (after the 14-day quarantine). The lease must be issued by the lessor showing the duration of stay, and the lessor’s contact details and tax ID number;
    A hire-purchase or mortgage agreement of immovable property; OR Condominium title deed;
  • Criminal record (verification shall be valid for not more than three months and must be duly notarised)
  • Medical certificate, issued from the country where the application is submitted, showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535) (certificate shall be valid for not more than three months and must be duly notarised).   • A copy of valid health insurance certificate cover the whole period of stay in Thailand
  • have outpatient benefit in Thailand of not less than 40,000 THB (or 100,000 INR)
  • have inpatient benefit in Thailand of not less than 400,000 THB (or 1,000,000 INR)
  • cover all medical expenditures including COVID-19 at least USD 100,000

Visa processing fee: INR 5,000

 REMARKS

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary.

Visa processing fee is subject to change without prior notice.

Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy.

The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants provide fraudulent documents or false information, their applications will be rejected and they may be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

Along with TR Visa/STV, the travelers must apply for Thailand Pass. Without the Thailand Pass, travelers will be refused entry to Thailand even if they hold valid visas. 

 

3. VISA ON ARRIVAL (VOA)

2.1 ELGIBLE APPLICANT:
– Single entry validity of up to 15 days and cannot be extended. Passport should hold validity of minimum 6 months from the date of expiration

2.2 DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
-Complete Application Form
-Approved Thailand Pass QR Code
-Photograph (4x6cm)
-Sufficient Funding of THB 10,000 per person and THB 40,000 per family
-Confirmed return ticket within 15 days
-RT-PCR Negative certificate taken less than 72 hrs before departure.
Health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of USD 20,000 stating clearly covering treatment and medical expenses related to COVID-19 during stay in Thailand.

-Visa Fees: THB 2000

4. E-Visa On Arrival (E-VOA)

How to Apply?
Step 1: Provide the Application details and upload the necessary Documents

You can submit your application through the VFS website. The first step of the E-VOA application is to register on the website. Provide all the requested information and upload the necessary documents. If you are a minor, it may be necessary to upload additional documents.

Important notes:

  • In this step, you will have to select the country as per the passport that you hold. If you have dual nationality, you must select the nationality of the passport that you will use for your travel.
  • The passport that you use for the application must be the same as the one you will use while travelling to Thailand. If different, then your E-VOA will be invalid.
  • Your passport should be valid for at least 30 days from your date of arrival to Thailand. The passport should have at least 1 blank page for stamping by the Thai Immigration Officer
  • The only travel document that can be used in the E-VOA application process is your regular passport. Other travel documents are not acceptable for E-VOA application.
  • Each traveller must obtain an individual E-VOA, including infants and children. The E-VOA applications can be created either for a single individual or for a family (minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 applicants).
  • During your E-VOA application, make sure that the information provided by you matches exactly with the information on your passport, otherwise your E-VOA will be invalid and you will not be eligible for a refund. Once the E-VOA is processed, the information provided cannot be changed.
  • The E-VOA application has no connection with Thailand Embassies or Consulate General. For any questions or comments, feel free to contact the E-VOA Support Desk.
    Please note that in order to have a seamless process for your Thailand E-VOA application, you will need a stable working internet connection. In the event of your connection being unstable, an error message will be prompted for security reasons.
Step 2: Pay the fee online

After providing all the required information, you will have to make the fee payment through the Payment gateway. You can pay the fees using a MasterCard, Visa card, Union Pay credit/debit card or WeChat or Alipay. It is not necessary for the card to be under your name. Make sure that your card has “3D Secure System” and is enabled to make international transactions.

Step 3: Download the E-VOA receipt

If the fee payment is successful, and your application is processed with a pre-approved E-VOA code, you will receive a .pdf file with the decision. You could download and print your E-VOA for your reference. We also recommend that you keep a copy of the .pdf file in your mobile phone.

Express-Visa Service: You can also apply for an express service, to get your E-VOA even faster. By paying an additional fee, you can get your E-VOA decision within 24 hours to help you travel at short notice to Thailand.

At the Airport

As soon as you arrive in Thailand with the pre-approved E-VOA, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the Visa on Arrival area in the immigration area and enter the dedicated E-VOA lane
  • Present your passport to the officer
  • Get the final immigration approval and enter Thailand
Visa Fees

The fee payment is the last step of your application process after submitting your details and the other mandatory documents. The E-VOA fees to be paid for Visitor Visa would be (non – refundable online processing fee, inclusive of all charges) as follows:

Regular Visa fee: 2000 THB*
Regular Service fee: 500 THB
Express-Visa Service: You can also apply for an express service, to get your E-VOA decision within 24 hours.
Express Visa fee: 2000 THB*
Express Service fee: 2500 THB
Document Information

Documents Needed

If you are applying for the E-VOA, you have to upload the following documents:

  • Passport cover page (Refer Specifications clicking here)
  • Passport bio page (Refer Specifications clicking here)
  • Departure and Return Airline tickets
  • Full trip of accommodation
  • Photograph size 4×6 cm. (Refer Specifications clicking here)

During the application, you may also be required to provide additional documents like birth certificate for minors. These documents should be uploaded online. In case you need to provide additional documents, you need to do it at least 3 days prior to arrival for regular visa and at least within 24 hours of arrival for express visa.

Document Validity

  • The pre – approved E-VOA is valid only on the arrival date as stated in the application form.
  • The purpose of your visit must be a short stay/travel in Thailand for no longer than 15 days.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least 30 days from the date of arrival and have at least 1 page available for Visa Stamp.
  • You must be a citizen of one of the 18 nationalities deemed eligible for E-VOA facility as per Immigration Bureau of Thailand’s requirement
  • Your confirmed air ticket must show a round trip for no longer than 15 days
  • Your full trip of accommodation address in Thailand should be verifiable
  • You should have sufficient means of living to support your stay in Thailand (minimum 10,000 THB/person, 20,000 Baht/family).
  • Medical insurance with minimum coverage 10,000 USD.
Photograph Specifications
The photograph to be uploaded must be 4×6 cm in size, as per ICAO Standard photograph:

Your visa application photograph must meet certain criteria regarding size and content. Submitting photos that do not meet these criteria can delay the visa application process. If your photo does not meet the requirements, you will have to provide new photographs before your application can be processed.

Processing Time
The processing time of the E-VOA is usually between 24 – 72 hours. If your application has exceeded five business days,
If you have opted for express visa service, the E-VOA will be processed within 24 hours.
Public Holidays and Closures
The Immigration Bureau of Thailand will be closed for business on public holidays in 2022.
The processing time may take longer during the closures.
