Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer

I received a bottle of Eva Nyc Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer in my Influenster box.  What is Influenster?  I’m glad you asked.  Influenster is a site where you can sign up, review products, and they send you free stuff.  In a nutshell.  There are levels and other things you can do as well, as with most things of this nature.

So I got my Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer for free.

And I’m so happy I did, because I probably would not have tried it otherwise.  I had seen the coral pink bottles in CVS and Ulta and passed them over.  I thought, “Something with such pretty packaging probably doesn’t work.” Right?  The person who yells the loudest usually has the least to say.

Even when I pulled the small purplish bottle out of the box, I kind of rolled my eyes.  But it WAS my very first box, after all. What was I expecting?

I made an effort to try everything in the Influenster box.

The Eva Nyc Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer is amazing.  I sprayed it on my hair after towel drying my hair and could feel an almost immediate difference.  My hair was soft, and a wide-tooth comb ran easily through it.  Not an easy feat when it’s been almost six months since my last haircut.

The soft feel lasted as I blow dried my hair, and my hair was shiny and manageable.  I cannot stress enough how much I like this product.

Another thing I love about the Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer is the scent.

The label stresses that argan oil is a key ingredient, and although I know argan oil doesn’t have a distinct smell, this company has used something akin to the Moroccan Oil formula.  It has a similar musky, yet sweet smell that I personally really like.

Like I said, I’m happy I gave this spray a try.  I ended up in line at Old Navy impulse buying the deep conditioner, and later used the Influenster coupon for $2 off any Eva Nyc product at Ulta to buy a bottle of regular conditioner.

Ulta, at the lowest price, has Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer for $11.99. CVS carries it for $12.29, and Target has it for an even $12.00 They have a website where it’s available as well, and it gives the whole history of the company including why it’s named “Eva.”  If you’re weird like me and curious about that, I suggest checking it out.

And now for some of my chaos.

As I write this I am sitting in a giant building on the FOX studios lot in background holding.  “Extras” or “background” hang out here when we’re not needed in a scene.  And we’re not needed in scenes a lot.

When people think of Hollywood, I imagine they think it is glamorous.  Background work is the opposite of that.  There is a lot of hurry up and waiting.  Amazingly, simply sitting all day is taking quite a toll on my body.  I worked yesterday and feel as though I got thrown down a flight of stairs.  A lot of people make a living doing professional BG work. I do not think my body could take it. Maybe I would get used to it.

Did I mention I’m playing a stripper?

Oh, and I’m playing a stripper on a flight to Vegas.  It’s funny, I thought at some point I would age out of that kind of role; apparently, not yet.

Stripper Amy makeup.

Also, I find this kind of work takes its toll psychologically.  I’m in such close proximity to people who are living my dream, the people who got them there, and I’m there as human furniture.  It’s frustrating, and I don’t think I have the psychological stamina for it full time either.  Those that do…I envy them.  My life would be easier if I could turn off my brain.

I think about this subject a lot, that there are people in life who get to achieve their dreams, and many more people that don’t.  And I wonder which person I will get to be.  There’s a popular belief that if you don’t ever give up, you’ll eventually “get there.”  The cynic in me knows that’s not true. The optimist in me hopes against hope that it is.

In any case, I will continue pursuing all of my dreams – writing, acting, blogging, all of them – at least for now.  Sure, every once in a while I make a grand proclamation that I’ve had it and I’m going to give up, but I think everyone does that.  A time may come when I’m ready to throw in the towel, get a “real job,” and stop dreaming.  But today’s not that day.
