Accommodation in Tallinn’s Old Town

Taking a trip to Tallinn, that is something I recommend. It is a city with both old and new. The Old Town of Tallinn is a beautifully-preserved medieval town, while next to it are fancy-looking high-rise buildings reminding of modern, hectic way of life. The Old Town is, however, the place that most tourists are interested in. Such a place does not exist in every country and is thus seen as a rarity. What is more, you don’t need to just visit the Old Town, you can also stay there. It is full of hotels and apartments! In this post, I show you the best accommodation in Tallinn’s Old Town – enjoy!

1. Merchants House Hotel

The Merchants House is located on the Dunkri street, just a stone’s throw away from Raekoja Plats – the big square in the heart of Old Town. It’s one of the better rated hotels in Tallinn’s core, offering some specialties such as free sauna for guests. You can eat breakfast in the mornings and dinner later in the hotel’s restaurant. Bar is also located on the premises for the thirsty.

What people liked?

Central location – Not hard to guess, most people liked its location. Everything will be just around the corner!

Friendly staff – It is not the case with every hotel in the ex Eastern bloc, but the Merchants House accommodation has friendly staff. So say many user reviews.

Free sauna – If you want to sit in a hot room naked, in this hotel you don’t need to pay anything for it.

What people didn’t like?

No lift – You see, these buildings in Tallinn’s Old Town date back from the 15th century or so, so they don’t have elevator. Ask for ground floor if you have problems with climbing.

What people liked?

Garden view in some rooms – Some rooms’ windows give to the inner yard, meaning beautiful view and silence.

Location – Very close to the heart of Old Town, the location of My City Hotel is hard to beat.

Comfortable bed – Many reviewers pointed out the beds in this accommodation are comfortable. How great for those who want to sleep well on their holiday.

What people didn’t like?

Some rooms are noisy – On the other hand, if you get a room with view to the street, you will probably hear all the drunken people at weekend nights.

What people liked?

Close to harbor – While not situated right in the heart of Old Town, the Three Sisters is rather close to the harbor. People who come to Tallinn by boat will have a short walk there.

Quiet rooms – Because of the location you won’t hear party people outside at nights.

Nice staff – The staff in this hotel should be very attentive and helpful, at least myriads of past reviews indicate so.
