The recent hashtag Pray for Australia (#prayforaustralia) is trending all over the internet and if you don’t know why, here’s a brief explanation to that.
Australia bush fire has been ravaging the country for months now. Looking at the destruction and loss of life it caused, it has been declared as the deadliest bushfire ever!
Around 500 million animals have lost their lives. 1500 homes have been destroyed and 28 people have gone missing so far. All these numbers are just an estimate for now. We can’t be sure about the actual numbers until everything comes under control and the real stats are shared then.
For now…
Almost 3000 firefighters are putting up their lives at stake trying to bring the situation under control. Many more firefighters have flown from America and Canada as well.
When looking at the news update, you don’t have to depend on television news only. Many images and videos are being shared across the internet on social media platforms as well. These images are clear proof that these brave men are leaving no stone unturned in order to save lives out there.
As a response this, people across the internet have shared various pictures, videos, and memes to support and salute the hard work that these men have put in. Pray for Australia (#prayforAustralia) is one such support tag that is trending over the twitter right now.
To further support the situation many fundraiser campaigns haven been launched. According to BBC, around A$20 million was raised during the intial 48 hrs of the campaign.
