N.B.A. Pulls All-Star Game From North Carolina Over Anti-LGBT Legislation!

The NBA announced on July 21 that Charlotte, North Carolina, will not be hosting of 2017 All-Star Game because of the state’s controversial anti-LGBT laws. The decision comes after North Carolina’s House Bill 2, which mandates that transgender people to use the bathroom associated with birth gender in public buildings, rather than the gender they identify.

The decision of the N.B.A. comes after Adam Silver, the comissioner had strongly hinted that to move All-Star Weekend out of North Carolina unless the discriminatory state law against the lesbians, gays, bisexual people and transgender individuals was changed.

"Since March, when North Carolina enacted HB2 and the issue of legal protections for the LGBT community in Charlotte became prominent, the NBA and the Charlotte Hornets have been working diligently to foster constructive dialogue and try to effect positive change," the NBA's statement is saying:

"We have been guided in these discussions by the long-standing core values of our league. These include not only diversity, inclusion, fairness and respect for others but also the willingness to listen and consider opposing points of view."

The NBA also explaining that the weeklong schedule of All-Star activities and events should be a global celebration of basketball. And that's should be the value they satnd for, while the North Carolina’s House Bill 2 is obviously against their value by discrimnating the whole LGBT community. The lesbians, gays, bisexual people and transgender individuals should have the equal right.

The NBA has not yet announced the new location , but the signs shows that New Orleans' Smoothie King Center should be the new locatin for the 2017 All-Star Games' host.
