LELO Ina Wave – Sex Toy Review

Tags: wave ina wave

Over the past few years there have been many innovations in the sex toy arena and the LELO Ina Wave™ is certainly one of them. Designed to mimic the ‘come hither’ gesture of a human finger, the same motion a finger might make in order to stimulate a womans G-Spot. the Ina Wave™ is touted as being the “First dual-action stimulator that surges and plunges within you”. Whilst I’m not certain that I would use those words to best describe it, it is certainly a unique and brand new sensation that I’m sure many others will try to imitate.

The Wave

This version of the LELO Ina is all about the Wave™ feature. The curved shaft pulses back and forth in a way that should wake up even the most reluctant G-Spot. This movement applies and releases pressure on the G-Spot, massaging the skenes gland which is the part of a womans anatomy responsible for female ejaculation. Each pulsation causes mine to become engorged and swell a little more until eventually my vagina turns into a geyser. Each and every time I’ve used this vibrator to masturbate I’ve ended up having a squirting orgasm, something no other sex toy, not even my favourite vibrator of all time has been able to help me achieve alone. Sure there have been plenty of dildos that have done the job, but the Ina Wave is the first vibrator to achieve such a feat on its own. With the wave they set out to make machine imitate man, and in my opinion they have succeded!

The main ‘head’ section of the shaft (which takes up the top 1/3 of the toy) is quite bold and pronounced as well as being incredibly rigid so as to really add pressure to the G-Spot even when it isn’t in ‘wave’ motion. When switched into the wave settings this head portion starts to move up and down, gently applying and releasing pressure against your G-Spot. I’ve included the promo video for it below so that you can see the ‘wave’ feature in action.

Controls and Functions

It’s relatively easy to control with a central on/off button which sits in the middle of the up and down buttons which navigate the settings and the + & – which control the intensity. It has settings that feature only the wave movement of teh shaft, or vibration only, and of course a whole bunch of combinations. At first I was kind of lost within the multiple options of 10 different patterns and 10 seperate levels of vibration intensity, but eventually after using it two or three times I managed to figure out where I was at. I wish sex toy makers included a little diagram of the different settings and where they sit within the cycle of settings so that I know exactly where to go to get what I want. It’s not so much of an issue with toys that only vibrate, but when adding in awesome new abilities like the Wave or the Stronic series of toys from Fun Factory.

Another feature they boast about is that it remembers the last setting you used it on and it will automatically start on that setting next time you switch it on. This is great if you can’t recall how to find that same pattern you loved last time you were getting off with it. But the problem is that I almost always start on a slow and easy vibration pattern & intensity, gradually building up to maximum settings as I get closer to cumming. So I find this “feature” rather annoying. However… for all the ladies who live in shared accomodation, are still at home with the folks, have rugrats running around or for whatever other reason might find them selves in a situation where they might get “busted” whilst using the toy – it shuts down mighty quick, just hit the on/off button and it will cut out straight away. If you found yourself in such a situation I imagine the ability to start up again would be appreciated.

Vibrations and Noise

Noise is probably the biggest drawback of the cool wave function, but like the memory function again it’s a give and take. If you want the hellish power of the Hitachi you put up with the hellish noise and the umbilical noose that is its power cord. If you want the unique, G-Spot seeking, Dual Stimulating pleasures of the Ina Wave you are going to have to put up with a bit of noise. But honestly if you live in a situation where the noise is an issue you can easily drown it out with the tv or stereo.

The Ina Wave isn’t capable of really intense vibrations, most LELO toys are ok, but not ‘OMG that was so strong’ when it comes to vibrations – But this toy and its signature ‘wave’ is more about the manual stimulation of the G-Spot, and I’ve convinced myself that the vibrating clitoral arm is like an added bonus. Don’t get me wrong, it is more than enough to get me off and then some, but as far as vibration intensity I give it an 8/10.

Shape & Size

The curved head of the shaft and its rounded body are designed to maximise its interactions with the G-Spot and it is quite a bit bigger in the section that waves and comes into contact with that area. This leaves you with a somewhat slimmer shaft around the area that is hugged by the vaginal opening during use which allows you to really angle to toy and apply even more pressure to the front wall of your vagina where all that G-Spot pleasure is being created.

The original Ina (not Ina 2) was somewhat notorious for being a case of ‘one size fits most’ when it came to its clitoral arm. If your vulva wasn’t arranged just so then that arm could either undershoot or overshoot your clit, or in my case it would push down on it so hard that it would bruise me. The arm was fixated in a way that it applied an alarming amount of pressure on ones clit. If your clit and vagina weren’t at the correct angles to one another the original Ina was more of a torture device than a pleasure object. Come Ina version 3.0 – aka Ina Wave, some adjustments have been made to help remedy the situation. The distance between the clitoral arm and the shaft on the wave (in pink) is bigger than the original Ina (green). However the Ina wave still applies quite a bit of pressure to my clit, I wish they had gone a bit further towards the ‘one size really does fit most’ style of clit stimulator that Soraya has.

Packaging & Inclusions

My toy came directly from the manufacturer, just as if I had purchased it directly from LELO and it arrived in a very non-descript packaging that doesn’t give any hint as to what is inside the package. Like all toys from LELO this vibrator has gorgeous packaging, none of that shitty plastic bags or annoying clam shells that reek with sleeze.  Included with your vibrator you will also receive its charger, a satin storage pouch, a copy of the toys instructions along with your 1 year warranty and the 10 year guarantee for your new toy. There is a small card with your unique product number for you to use to register your new pleasure object and of course a sample of lube.

When ordered from LELO.com you will receive the correct charger for your countries electrical outlet – If you purchase from an international retailer do check to see you receive the correct type of charger for your area.

In Use

I have developed my own personal style of hands free masturbation that can only be described as lazy. It basically consists of inserting a vibrator (its usually a rabbit vibe, most often it’s either my Soraya or the Ina Wave, but also the stronic eins is perfect for hands free) whilst I am lying on the lounge perusing pornography and then closing me legs around it, just enough so that it stays in place. With it only switched onto one of its slightly lower settings I like to leave it there and just let it get me warmed up.

Completely lazy, but also ridiculously relaxing. The wave motion of this toy makes it absolutely perfect for this kind of thing, I could easily get off without ever using my hands – but that rarely ever happens. Eventually I’ll inevitably start squirming, unable to continue on without intervention and then my hands get involved in the situation.

The wave motion seems to really make my G-Spot stand up and pay attention so to speak. And this I believe is the secret to why this is the first vibrator to make me squirt whilst masturbating. Each little poke upon the general area of the G-Spot gradually rouses it and wakes it up – I know this isn’t the correct term, but I feel as though it’s the best descriptive term for it. A lot of women have trouble finding their G-Spot and I would love to see a study done with toys such as this in the way I’ve described to see how many absconded G-Spots would come out of hiding. But I digress. As each up and down wave continues to stimulate the G-Spot it swells and becomes engorged which I’ve found to be the precursor to an explosive, Intense squirting orgasm.

In another review I saw something silly mentioned as a huge con – the fact that they have markings embossed in the silicone (shaking my head). The symbols are stamped into the back of the toy at the bottom of the handle – these are required by law to be stamped onto these toys as they are consumer electronics, however the seam lines running up and down the shaft could be buffed back a bit better. My biggest pick though is the seam between the handle and shaft, over time that is going to get gunk in it and eventually a gap will develop, however I must admit I abuse my toys something severe. The join seems to be clean, safe and secure, but even as I’m sitting here writing I find myself picking at it… if social services existed for sex toys they would kick my ass!!!

 The Wave In Motion

To wrap things up I’m in love with this hunk of silicone coated mechanations. It can do things to me that make me feel Awesome! The unique sensations created by the patented Wave movement really set this vibrator apart from the rest. Supplying clitoral stimulation to a toy that also applies such G-Spot stimulation also makes Ina Wave stand out from the crowd  and earns it a spot in my 5 Stars Category.

I wish I could give one to every single person on the planet… sadly my superpowers aren’t quite that strong, but I can tell you where you can get one of your very own.
