Great News!   3 Things I want to share with you.

1. Many of you have been following me about my journey with Stage 1 Breast Cancer – from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up over the past 20 months and I’m so excited to share the great news!

My Diagnostic Bilateral 3-D Mammogram, done on November 1, approx. 1.5 years from initial diagnosis is NEGATIVE!  This is fantastic news!

Obviously, I will need to continue with my follow-up exams with my breast surgeon, Dr. Toosie and am scheduled to see her on Nov. 19.  I will be seeing her every 6 months for the first 5 years.  I am finding ways to reduce my stress and even have started taking a yoga class!  It’s really helping me become more limber (I’m incredibly stiff!) as well as provide me with more calmness during the day.

I want to thank all of my patients who have helped me through these challenging, and sometimes, fearful times!  Your support has kept me positive and smiling!

2.Want to participate in an incredible local wellness program, specifically for women during peri-menopause and menopause? I’m one of the physicians who will be taking part in this integrated Wellness Program – includes hormones, nutrition, acupuncture, mindfulness and pelvic floor training!

In health and happiness,

– Dr. Diana

P.S. Couldn’t leave you without sharing a picture of me with my mother.  She is declining with her dementia but still loves when I visit.  Just look at that smile!  We are taking one day at a time.

I visited her this morning and upon leaving, I said that I needed to go to work.  “Oh, where do you work?”, she asked.  “I’m a doctor.”, I replied.  Her eyes were wide and bright.  Smiling she said, “Wow, really?  Good for you!”  We both laughed, I said, “No.  Good for us!”

Remember how valuable these little moments can be!
