According to this recent Article I read, it sure is!!
Why is sugar the “white death”?
Because it’s responsible for a higher rate of heart disease than saturated fats. Here is an enlightening article from the New York Times about how the Sugar industry in 1967, hired three Harvard scientists to publish an article in the esteemed New England Journal of Medicine to minimize the link between sugar and heart health. These scientists were paid to place blame on saturated fat as the culprit. I really encourage all of you to read this article – it’s a bit disheartening. Money overpowered ethics in this case.

Luckily, in 1984, the New England Journal of Medicine began to require that published articles provide financial disclosure regarding funding.
As we know for decades, health officials have promoted a low fat diet for Americans – only to later lead to consumption of high sugar foods. Many believe that this has fueled the obesity crisis present today in the United States.
I’m writing this blog now because it’s coming closer to the holidays. Plates of cookies, cakes and chocolate will abound, all teasing you to take a bite. I ask you to please be mindful of what you put into your body. They may look mouth-watering – but they are death to your heart!
In health and happiness,
P.S. Sugar is cancer’s favorite food!
