Construction is crazy in China. With no environmental or humanitarian regulations to get in the way, bridges and roads get built in no time.

And they’ve the perfect machine to do it.

They developed this incredible truck that drives along piers, carrying sections of precast concrete to complete the railbed. With the precast acting as a counterweight, it telescopes out and drops legs onto the next pier, then slides the railbed out and drops it into place. Lift up, roll back and then drive back to pick up the next section. Rinse and repeat.

But given the quality of China’s trains, would you feel safe riding on that bridge?
