Making the Web More Secure

We mentioned in our last newsletter that Google is going to start showing warning messages in the Chrome browser on any website that has a form and isn’t secure (HTTPS).

In September we took it upon ourselves to make sure our website is secure. This allowed us to get familiar with the process and come up with a solid checklist for helping others.

We then successfully updated over 10 of our clients websites to SSL. It is an interesting project and one we’re still working on for other clients.

If you need help getting your website secure, we can help! Whether it be hands on or guiding you in the right direction. Just let us know.

Client Spotlight

Since March 2014, we’ve been working with Tom Dieringer at All Surface Roofing & Construction. We manage his Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), Content Creation, Pay-Per-Click (PPC), and soon to be working on a completely new site redesign.

“The breadth of services and their awareness of a wide variety of SEO strategies and media have proven to be quite helpful and refreshing. Dealing with consultants can sometimes be a mixed bag and I’ve found that you must be alert for pretenders who simple regurgitate what others have said a year or two ago. The WebRanking team has always been on the cutting edge of their profession and are true industry leaders.”

Bonus Trivia Answer: FALSE: Jack o’ Lanterns originated in Ireland where people placed candles in hollowed-out turnips to keep away spirits and ghosts on the Samhain holiday. (source)
