Navigating a website and finding the needed information quickly and efficiently can often be a frustrating experience for users. With the vast amount of content available online, users expect instant, relevant, and accurate internal search results. As I’ve been correcting issues with older articles, updating out-of-date articles, and removing articles on technologies that no longer exist, the overall quality of Martech Zone has improved dramatically. With WordPress, I’ve experimented with external Search as a Service platforms, enhanced Search with Jetpack, and developed several customizations on my own. Some provided better search results but had a terrible user experience (UX), some had too many limitations, and still others had an amazing UX but terrible results… especially given the custom post types and taxonomy improvements I’ve made to my site.

There are three key elements that I wanted to provide users:

• Autocomplete: Given my content, as someone writes their search query, they should be able to get recommendations for search terms that are applicable.
• Live Search: As a user types in their search terms or phrases, I wanted a dropdown to provide live search results so that they could fine-tune their query and see the results.
• Settings: I wanted visitors to be able to modify the query for exact searches, title searches, and select the post types they wished to query in addition to a date range.

I also wanted internal control over the search results and how I indexed and prioritized them. So… you may notice that I have a new search bar prominently in the header of the site.

Definitely the best search plugin! I have tested many free and paid, and this one is actually worth a lot more. Search results are very accurate, is fast (over 10,000 products under 2 seconds), have a lot of customizations allowing almost any settings.
